The purpose is to provide a safe and learning-intensive environment for boys in the Robious District, to
enjoy the rewards and fun that the game of Basketball offers.

The Program provides (5) Special Instructional Clinics on Saturdays, as well as (5) practice games
beginning after the completion of the FIVE (5) Instructional Clinics.  

INSTRUCTIONAL - GENERAL PROVISIONS:


B.        Teams are a minimum of EIGHT (8) players and a maximum of TWELVE (12) players.

C.        Practice times are during the week nights normally 1  to 2 practices a week.  

D.       The FIVE (5) PRACTICE GAMES will be played utilizing MINOR “B” rules.  The League will provide
ONE (1) Referee for these games.  This will provide for a transition to competitive minor play next year.


F.        There WILL NOT be any standings or PLAYOFFS.  THIS IS FOR INSTRUCTIONAL USE ONLY AND IS
INTENDED TO PROVIDE A TRANSITION TO MINOR BASKETBALL.


AGE CHANGE NOTICE

Effective March 31, 2005, the eligible age to participate in the Chesterfield Basketball League will be
computed using a birth date of August 1 instead of December 31
.  


All Competitive Divisions are divided into A and B divisions, based on the skill of the player.  Skilled and
above average players are placed in the A Division, while developing and novice players are placed in the
B division.  All games are governed by High School Federation Rules as modified by CBBL.
All PLayers must play at least (1) Quarter


MINOR, ages 10-11:
First competitive level.  Minor A and B

1.  (6) minute quarters, stopping the clock each time the Official whistle blows.  EIGHT (8) minutes
between halves, THREE (3) minutes between quarters.

2.  There are no (3) point shots.  All shots scored as (2) points except foul shots.

3.  No pressing in the back court is allowed on any inbound pass.  The defensive players cannot press the
offensive players until the player or the ball has crossed half court. Teams press after a rebound at any
time.

4.  Teams are allowed to use a full court press on an inbound pass in the last minute of the fourth quarter
and the last minute of each subsequent overtime.  

5.  MINOR A & B teams play with a youth basketball (one inch smaller in circumference than a regular
basketball).  Foul line will be moved in three (3) feet from regular line.

Post-season tournaments are divided into A and B divisions based on regular-season records.


INTERMEDIATE, ages 12-13:
Intermediate B

1.  (6) minute quarters, stopping the clock each time the Official whistle blows.  EIGHT (8) minutes


2.  There are no (3) point shots.  All shots scored as (2) points except foul shots.

1.  (7) minute quarters, stopping the clock each time the Official whistle blows.  EIGHT (8) minutes
between halves, THREE (3) minutes between quarters.

2.  There are (3) point shots allowed in both A and B Divisions

3.  Juniors A & B teams play with a regulation sized basketball.

Post-season tournaments are divided into A and B divisions based on regular-season records.

SENIOR, ages 16-18:
Senior A and B

1.  (8) minute quarters, stopping the clock each time the Official whistle blows.  EIGHT (8) minutes
between halves, THREE (3) minutes between quarters.

2.  There are (3) point shots allowed in both A and B Divisions

3. Senior A & B teams play with a regulation sized basketball.

Post-season tournaments are divided into A and B divisions based on regular-season records.

NOTE:  Per CBBL Rules, there will be no more than TWO (2) EIGHTEEN-year-old players per “A” team
and no more than ONE (1) EIGHTEEN (18) year old per “B” team
